Ollie’s climbing journey began toward the end of his master’s degree in Sheffield—just a little too late to fully take advantage of the Peak District’s legendary gritstone. What started as a casual indoor bouldering hobby quickly grew into a passion for sport climbing, and eventually into a love for the adventure and challenge of traditional climbing.

After buying and converting a campervan, he set out to explore the UK’s diverse climbing destinations—from the iconic gritstone edges of the Peak, to Pembroke’s dramatic sea cliffs, to the big multi-pitch routes of the Lake District.

Ollie’s background in engineering gave him experience in training and mentoring, sparking a lasting passion for teaching. That passion found a new focus when he introduced a friend to trad climbing, discovering a way to combine technical instruction with outdoor adventure. Now a qualified rock climbing instructor, he has relocated to Whistler to pursue his craft full-time and to explore everything North America’s mountains have to offer.

Beyond climbing, Ollie is a half-decent snowboarder, mountain biker, and trail runner. His winter climbing and splitboarding are still a work in progress—but the mountains aren’t going anywhere.
