A popular diet trend but is it for everyone?
Gluten-free diets have gained popularity over the past decade. Many books and websites claim gluten is the cause of various ailments and health problems. As a result many people are choosing to remove gluten from their diets with the belief that it will improve their health. Currently, however, there is is very little to no evidence of a benefit for healthy individuals to remove wheat or gluten from their diets. The important thing to acknowledge is there are been health benefits from the reducing and removing processed foods from ones diet. Many of which are made out of wheat or contain gluten so removing gluten from the diet can remove a lot of these foods.
